What is prediabetes?

Prediabetes is called a precursor to Type 2 Diabetes, but this diminishes the severity of the problem. In truth, Type 2 Diabetes is not a simple “on or off” disease. It is a continuum capable of doing serious chronic damage to you long before you reach the “official” threshold of diabetes. Health authorities are finally admitting the extent of this epidemic, but they make it appear that the danger to you will only occur in the future.

The truth is that Type 2 Diabetes is a progressive disease and is doing its damage to other organs of your body long before you are officially designated as a diabetic. Heart disease, peripheral neuropathy, kidney, and polycystic ovary syndrome are just some of the problems you may develop long before learning you are diabetic.
